The versatile SDL system precisely checks and tests the new generation of high accuracy inertial sensors (rate sensors, fibre optic gyros, ringlaser gyros), enables accelerometer calibration (the rate table mechanic is built into a tilt device that allows for a +/-90° tilt movement) andan axle extention to be mounted on a mounting plate.
In combination with a temperature chamber these tests can be performed in a temperature range of for example, -40°C... +125°C.
Generation of Scorsby Motion via optional Tumble Fixture (a standard test mode for aeronautical instruments).
The unique system performance is achieved by a DC torque motor providing optimum low wow and flutter signal and low rate stability conditions which are further increased by a high bandwidth servo loop (DSP based)
The system can comfortably be controlled via the digital Motion Controller SDC – using the modern graphical user interface that Windows XP had embedded.
Parameters are entered via the keyboard and a high-quality TFT monitor shows the operational modes of the system (fully remote-controllable via standard interfaces).
Various signal outputs provide an exact ‘shape’ of the movement for external signal acquisitioning.
The frame is designed for vertical and horizontal operation.
